Our Managing Director Ashley Kirk recently combined a catch-up with a friend with some exercise, fresh air, and a fantastic positive contribution to the environment.
One Saturday, Ashley and his friend went on a litter pick along the picturesque Leeds to Liverpool canal, walking 13 miles from Rodley to Shipley and back. Along their route, which offered some beautiful views, they managed to fill five black bags with litter.
Ashley shared his thoughts on the experience: "We chose to do this as it not only helps our local area but taking part in community activities definitely helps to bring a sense of connection, personal fulfilment and well-being. As we litter picked along our route, it was lovely to receive appreciation and plenty of thank yous from the general public and a couple members of the Canal & River Trust."

4 Site Security is deeply committed to supporting the local communities in which we live and work. Initiatives such as litter picking provide numerous important benefits. They play a vital role in protecting wildlife, preserving water quality, and enhancing our local environment. This activity also helps prevent the spread of pollutants and significantly reduces the amount of waste that ultimately reaches our oceans.
Well done to Ashley and his friend for making such a positive impact.
